Just got a Windows Smartphone

It's an HTC Touch Pro to be exact, and I'm wondering if people know of some good applications to throw on it? I've got Google Maps, pocketCAS, pocketPutty, NetHack, & PocketUFO on it so far

You know what I miss? I miss the clever articles of Maddox, as you can see here they've been in steady decline over the past 8 or so years:

Worse it seems his later articles he's getting rusty with his style, so his 1 article next year probably won't be any good, and this makes me sad.

What makes me happy though is Dropbox, it's like a personal version control system, that makes it easy to share things publically, I highly recommend it.

As for something that makes me happy as well as frustrated, I'm experimenting with Box2D, and other than some weird naming convention and the odd performance of the flash version, it's working rather well, and is surprising me very little, which is good as the other physics engines I tried (like the one in Torque) seem to do unexpected things, and Box2D has so far avoided it.

A flop

Well it's pretty safe to say Box Juggler was a flop, with no one submitting a high score in a while now, and the number of plays being so low. The poor reviews on newgrounds/kongregate don't seem to help it either, so I'm hoping STAR won't suffer the same fate. As for STAR no changes have been made to it for about a month now as I'm just waiting on music, as I'm musically inept.

In the zone

I made Box Juggler to take a break from STAR for a bit, to give the assets a little time to catch up, and it turned out better than expected. I found another game like it on Kongregate after I finished it but even though it has more play modes, it doesn't invoke the same feeling of getting in the zone keeping them in the air.

Here's a few tips if you're having troubles with the game:
  • Make small motions rather than large ones, it's easier to control the boxes this way
  • Drop instead of throw when you can it makes the boxes travel slower, making them easier to catch
  • Make use of the walls, that way you'll require less motion to catch a box than if you fling them across the screen

EDIT: Also uploaded the game to a bunch of sites if you guys want to go there and rate it:

Well the STAR alpha is finally complete, but needs some serious bug fixing and balancing before it'll be ready for beta, it's a closed alpha test right now but it's by invite only, so hopefull I can get STAR to beta before October hits.

I've also made some changes to the backend of the site so I now get alerted when someone leaves a comment, so hopefully it'll lead to less lost comments in the end.

For those who haven't played Braid yet, do so now. It's the best thing on XBLA so far.
